Al DiMauro

Some say I was born with a pencil in my hand. When other kids were out riding their bikes and playing sports I was drawing anything and everything, landscapes, animals, and people you name it. It was my passion. As time rolled on I developed a love affair with automobiles, especially Hot rods, muscle cars, race cars: dirt track, top fuelers, drag racers, they had my heart. At 17 I joined the Navy and served with them for 4 incredible years as an Illustrator Draftsman, which only enhanced my artistic talent. Once, I re- entered civilian life I wanted to work doing something automobile related so went to school to learn how to restore vehicles. Restoring them wasn't enough so I tried my hand at lettering, pin stripping, air brush, painting murals on cars, motorcycles, helmets again anything auto related. I had found a new level of artwork that accelerated me even more. This opened doors for me that I never dreamed possible. I did Nose Art on B-52's for the Air Force, restored vehicles to show perfection to name a few. As if that wasn't enough I began painting Portraits of Race Car drivers both nationally known and local drivers. .
All of this has led me to the path I am on currently. I have had the great pleasure of painting a "Riddler" award winner in addition to other award winners. Most of my paintings evoke a story on canvas, these have amazed and intrigued many. My rusted vehicles with life like resemblance, my reflections that make folks double take as they think they are looking at a photo, grab the attention of both women and men. Barry Maguire of Maguire Car Wax products said "That reflection looks like you got it with my Wax". That was an honor to hear.

I want to tell a story that touches the heart of the customer, example; "how did your love affair begin with cars" both for the commissioned customer and the customer that just falls in love with a piece I have for sale.

I am humbled by the people that have purchased my paintings both everyday folks as well as famous. My paintings hang in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Saudi Arabia, China, India and all four corners of the United States. My work also hangs and is for sale in several Auto Museums and Restorations shops across the US.

This journey has been amazing. I thank God for this talent I am blessed with it gives me great pleasure to bless others. My greatest reward is seeing the delight on the faces of my customers. All to the glory of God.
