Dutch-born Arthur Benjamins' work has achieved acclaim in the UK and countries as far as Japan and Australia. His automotive and aviation work has appeared in countless newspapers, magazine articles and on national television. His automotive work has been collected by sponsors, advertising giants, race drivers and fans worldwide.
He pioneered "Abstract Iconography" in which various iconic images are guided into a form of minimalism, a heartbeat away from abstraction.
He does portraits of musicians, actors, politicians, artists and racing drivers and has also uniquely given new life to "Neoplasticism" a movement which had laid dormant since 1944.
Benjamins pioneered and perfected the use of enamel paint in all his works but since moving to the USA, he has embraced the use of acrylic paint – a medium which allows him to work with far more spontaneity.
Portraying the myriad of sunrises and sunsets of the beautiful Arizona sunsets, he reflects beauty in his colorful "Desert Series" using exquisite textures and swirling paint. His technique requires a sturdy foundation, so he uses cradled wood panels. He is also fond of layering various panels with a stand-off, allowing a distinct three dimensional aspect to come into play.
He is also completely self-taught which allowed his work to be unbound by conventions and given him raw access to the self-discovery of his talents and directions in which to travel.
He was recently commissioned to paint the artwork for the Daytona Motor Sports Hall Of fame Of America, meeting many American automotive legends, like Mario Andretti, Rick Mears, Bobby Allison and Jeff Gordon.

Since he came to the USA in 2014, his work has already moved into the hearts and minds of a great many Americans.
